How ungrateful can the Government be to the soldiering community

BSNL, MTNL v/s OROP

The Tribune of 06 Aug reported that the GoI for the year 2014-15 had written of losses of BSNL of Rs 7265 cr & MTNL losses to the extent of Rs 2893.39 cr; adding up to Rs 10,158.39 cr. 

   On  exploring more details from the net---BSNL serves 72% of India's population. It has 2,67,906 employees with a pay bill of Rs 13,406.06 cr at an average of Rs 41,700 per head.

    MTNL has 41,591 employees, with a pay bill of Rs 3,711.00 cr at an average of Rs 74,366 per head.

There can be endless discussion on the reasons for losses incurred by these monoliths; & the high pay structure; but that is not the reason for this mail. 

The question is very simple, HOW DOES the 'MAHAN' GoI HAVE RESOURSES TO WRITE OFF Rs 10,158.39 Cr LOSSES INCURRED BY 3,09,606 EMPLOYEES,

            BUT JUST CANNOT FIND Rs 8,300 Cr TO GIVE OROP TO 25,00,000 DEFENCE PERSONNEL & WIDOWS , THAT HAVE GIVEN THEIR YOUTH / LIFE /LIMBS FOR THE NATION!! 

 

HOW UNGRATEFUL CAN THE GOVT / NATION BE?! THERE HAS TO BE A LIMIT SOMEWHERE..HAS DEFENDING FREEDOM , LIBERTY HAVE NO VALUE....THIS SCENARIO IS NEVER SEEN ANY WHERE ELSE ON THIS PLANET.
