I invite your attention to the jointly signed letter dated 30th Oct 2026 from the Joint Forum Constituents of which AIRIEF is a constituent member. Needless to say, the other two Constituents are the AIIPA and the Fed. of the Retired Class-I Officers' Association. Vide this communication, you were informed of the decisions taken in the Zoom meeting of the constituent partners held on 29.10.2026 which had the participation of President and General Secretary of each constituent organisation.

The letter also shared a joint action program including joint demonstration at the Divisional/Zonal HQs on Wednesday, the 18 Nov.2026 during lunch hour. Pl note that the demonstration is to be held jointly during lunch hours only. You may contact the OBs of the local Constituents Associations and also solicit the participation by their in service counterparts. In Indore, AIIPA's inservice counterpart have given consent to participate and hopefully the other inservice trade unions would also join. You may at your level initiate dialogue with inservice Associations as they will stand to be benefitted over course of time.

The slogans for demonstration should be worded in English, Hindi or any regional languages on following issues decided mutually with local AIIPA leadership as the 3rd constituent donot have their unit at Indore;

• 1.
  Periodial updation of Pension.
• 2.
  Uniform DA to pre 1.8.97 retirees.
• 3.
  Adequate increase in exgratia pension to pre 1.1.86 retirees
• 4.
  Reimbursement of Domiciliary treatment and preventive health check ups.
• 5.
  Improvement in group Mediclaim.
• 6.
  Scrap GST on group mediclaim premium.
• 7.
  Increase in pension on attaining age 80 yrs. and thereafter every 5 years
• 8.
  Full subsidy in mediclaim premium to all.

You are at liberty to compose your slogan in addition to the above that will be beneficial to all keeping the interest of all partners protected and without prejudice to any.

Feel free to ask in case of any doubt and post in PST or the OBs group so that my reply will be information to all. Pl submit illustrated report of the activity to Chief Editor Varishtha Vaani and also post in the social media.

Dear Sir,

We intend to bring to your kind attention a few very vital issues of the LIC Pensioners that stand represented to the LIC management several times by our Associations individually but are waiting settlement. The issues are long pending on which discussions were also held with the management at different levels. But, no forward movement could be registered yet. The issues are as follows :-

The most pressing of all issues that confront the pensioners is the issue of periodical revision of basic pension in the wake of the wage revision of the in-service employees as is in vogue in case of Central Government employees. Clause 56 of the LIC Pension Rules, 1995 makes it abundantly clear that these rules were framed on the basis of Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules. But the improvements that came to Central Civil Service Pensioners at the recommendation of the Central Pay Commission providing pension updation, are being denied unjustly to LIC pensioners. Besides, such a pension updation scheme was also extended to the Reserve Bank of India pensioners, where also the pension payment is made from a designated Fund as in LIC. But, despite repeated representations LIC pensioners stand deprived of this benefit. As a result, the basic pension of the LIC pensioners continues to remain stagnant. This has created serious distortion, anomaly and discrimination. LIC management should not take a plea that the matter is sub-judice since it is under adjudication in the Supreme Court. Given a positive approach of the LIC management an out of court settlement on this issue can be made possible. It is also a fact that an opportunity for an amicable settlement made available by the judiciary through ‘Lok Adalat’ process was also not grabbed by LIC.

WATERLOGGING IN RAM LEELA MAIDAN IN NEW DELHI

 Yes. Confirmed. Delhi's Ram Leela Maidan has developed substantial waterlogging and muddy conditions following rainfall over the past two days.

According to reports published today, 30 October 2026:

Amar Ujala (8:34 PM): Rainwater has accumulated at several places, and much of the ground has turned muddy.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers were pumping out accumulated rainwater on Friday.

Workers continued arranging chairs and preparing the venue despite the wet and muddy conditions.

Aaj Tak and ANI also reported waterlogging and mud, with visuals from the ground.

Dear Comrades,

You will recall that we addressed a letter on 28.09.2026 to the General Secretaries of All India Retired Insurance Employees’ Federation and Federation of Retired LIC class I Officers’ Associations proposing a joint meeting to chalk out united organisational mobilisations to achieve long pending demands of LIC Pensioners. A joint meeting of the three organisations was held yesterday online and unanimously decided to move ahead unitedly. A copy of the minutes of the said meeting is reproduced below for information.

We request all the Units in life sector to liaise with the Units of other two organisations at their end and make all joint programmes envisaged a total success.

Time and again, a need was felt to strengthen our Mumbai unit as the place is epicenter of all activities of our mighty Corporation including the welfare of the pensioners. We were exploring the possibility of an appointment of Sr. level Officers in the Central Office and coinciding this visit, we wanted to meet the Mumbai unit OBs. Since this meeting with Sr. Officials was not coming up for long, we decided to visit Mumbai and attend a meeting.

It was in this pursuit that Mr MP Agnihotri, Mr VS Sikarwar and I visited Mumbai on 26th and 27th October. On 26th October 2026, we had a meeting with the core group of Mumbai Unit members. This meeting with Mumbai team also aimed at giving the unit a hand-holding support and infuse in them the necessary thrust to meet the Sr. Officials on our advice to pursue our matters. We introduced them to some of the retired/serving senior officials in the Central Office who assured us of giving help whenever required. It was an assurance deserving our extolment as never in the past that we received such a whole-hearted assurance.
