IBA announced Bank Holiday on 14.04.2014 on account of Dr B R Ambedkar Birthday

Indian Bankers Association (IBA) has announced vide Ref No.CIR/HR&IR/H6/2014-15/1556 dated 31.03.2015 regarding declaration of Bank Holiday on Tuesday, 14th April 2015 throughout India  on account of Birthday  of Dr. B R Ambedkar  under Negotiable Instruments Act,  1881. Holiday  on Tuesday,  14th  April  2015 throughout India  on account of  Birthday   of Dr. B R Ambedkar  under  Negotiable  Instruments Act,  1881

The  Ministry    of  Personnel     Public     Grievances   &  Pensions     (Department     of  Personnel      & Training),    Government   of  India vide  O.M.  F.No.12/6/2015-JCA-2, dated  19th  March  2015 (copy   enclosed)   has  declared  Tuesday, 14th April  2015 as a holiday  under the Negotiable Instruments   Act,  1881 on account  of the birthday  of Dr. B R Ambedkar.

Banks  may kindly  take note of the same.

Subject:   Declaration  of  Holiday on  14th April,  2015- Birthday of  Dr.B.R.  Ambedkar.

It  has been decided  to declare  Tuesday, the 14th April  2015,  as  a Closed Holiday on account  of  the   birthday   of  Dr.  B.R.  Ambedkar,   for   all Central    Government   Offices including  Industrial   Establishments     throughout India.

2.        The    above    holiday     is   also   being    notified   in   exercise   of  the   powers conferred      by   Section     25   of  the   Negotiable  Instruments Act, 1881 (26  of
1881).

3.          All   Ministries/Departments        of  Government    of  India    may    bring    the above   decision  to  the  notice   of all concerned.
