On going through the Supreme Court Order dt 8/4/2015,I get an impression
that by questioning the maintainability of the SLP filed by LIC when
liberty was granted by the Supreme Court,Mr Asthana's senior counsel
might not have taken the right step.
To me it appears that Mr Kailas Vasdev's contention may be upheld by the Apex Court.(I will be happy if my forecast is proved wrong). If that happens, we would have wasted precious two weeks.
If this mis-step(pardon me for using this word) had not been taken, the counsel for the pensioners could have been very well allowed to start their arguments on the strengths of the grounds on which the SC could decide the case in our favour.
Now we have given an opportunity to LIC and GOI to enjoy the benefits of protracted litigation.
Now I wonder whether anything worthwhile will be in store for pensioners before the summer vacation of the Supreme Court.
With greetings.
