Dear Shri S.C.Jain, GS, AIBRF
I am S.RAMASWAMY , voluntarily retired Senior Manager from Union Bank of India in April 2001.  Thanks to the collective efforts taken by various Associations/Federations/Organisations, I have got second option for pension and I am now in receipt of pension.

I have been keenly observing your various though provoking circular letters addressed to UFBU on Pensioners demands,  reply from Shri CHV and the various rejoinders from the retired pensioners.    I have a feeling that we have placed too much faith and reliance  on UFBU, which has yielded no tangible progress so far and the retired pensioners are left in lurch.
From the various correspondences appeared in the Pensioners Blog, I understand that the present membership strength of AIBRF is around 125,000.  Even if half of the members contribute Rs 500/- each initially towards a legal fund to defray legal expenses, the collection would come to around Rs 2.50 crores (50,000 members x Rs 500/- per member).  With the necessary financial support in the kitty and with the backing of more than one lac pensioners, AIBRF need not depend upon UFBU and it can plan its own strategies  to fight legally against IBA/GOI/and other individual bank managements to extend the legitimate benefits due to the pensioners.   Though this route is time consuming, we can request the court for an urgent hearing, as is being requested in other cases.

I am willing to contribute the initial amount towards the legal fund.  Please look into this suggestion, set up the legal fund account, disseminate the information through Pensioners Blog (bankpensioner@googlegroups.com) for soliciting the required amount and take appropriate steps to protect the interest of senior, hapless pensioners.   Your action in this regard will alleviate the sufferings and financial dependance of many pensioners and give a fresh lease of life in their remaining life.
Wishing the best of luck.
Regards
S.RAMASWAMY
