  On May 7^th, 2015 the Supreme Court directed LIC, as an interim measure, to pay 20% of arrears of Basic pension (Including DR) with in 6 weeks .This order applies to all pensioners.

 

  It is a directive to LIC from Supreme Court. It is to be implemented by LIC. The matter is of concern to all pensioners of LIC. 

  This brooks no interference from any one including AIIPA. In this context the AIIPA wrote to LIC stating, “Not to be content to comply with legal niceties but to grant uniform rate of Dearness relief to all affected pensioners”.

 

  AIIPA sees only dearness relief in the Supreme Court order. It is unfortunate. This does not clearly indicate AIIPA’S commitment to pensioners cause.

 

  In spite of these distortion and distractions pensioners of LIC are bound to emerge victorious in the legal battle of two decades by the end of September this year.
