Re: Live From Punjab & Haryana High Court Chandigarh Next Date 20.07.2015
Dear Editor,
Let me feel extremely sorry from you and your esteemed readers for being out of touch. My phone battery gone around 12.30 pm and hence had to be off line. Just reached home after dropping Sh. Murty at Chandigarh Airport.
Our case turn came at 3.30 pm. Our advocate Ms. Alka Chatrath was in her full form today due to full support from Sh. Murty.
L.I.C. Advocate as usual tried to mislead by saying that as per Supreme Court Order dated 07.05.2015, 20 % amount already deposited by us in High Court has to be released and we are ready to comply with supreme court orders by paying the same to all petitioners and hence no contempt is involved.
Our advocate conveyed very clearly that calculation sheets of all 31 petitioners with amount payable up to April,2015 as per high court original judgement dated 09.11.2012 containing full D.A, Pension Up gradation along with 12% interest have already been submitted by her in court running into 300 plus pages involving payable amount by L.I.C to the tune of Rs 7.7 Crores and L.I.C. merely deposited a petty amount of just Rs 33 lacs only and hence contempt against LIC
Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain seemed to be convinced with our advocate and at one stage he had to tell LIC Senior Advocate to please keep quiet and listen the other advocate also.
Judge told our advocate that let her submit two pages note cum affidavit explaining whole calculations running into 300 plus pages and fixed next date post summer vacations as 20.07.2015.
So prayers of all L.I.C Pensioners have given us a positive outcome today as we are successful in keeping our Contempt Case very much alive despite best possible efforts by L.I.C. to get the same dismissed.
With my Thanks and regards for all,
B.R.Mehta
