Dear VG and CHM
The Chairman & M.Ds invited all past retired Chairmen, M.Ds and Mumbai based EDs for a Get Together and dinner on 4th Sept 7.30 pm (at Sofitel BKC Bandra).In all 60 to 70 senior retired persons graced the occasion. All EDs of C.O and 7 ZMs were also present.The occasion was compered by Bhattacharya ED (CC).
Besides welcome speech by Chairman S.K Roy and 3 M.Ds, video shows about progress of LIC,initiatives of LIC in CR and 2015 Sr DMs' conference graced by Dr.Abdul Kalam and his address were shown.A special issue of 'Yogakshema' was ceremoniously released by M.G Diwan.
Each guest was offered by Chirman flanked by MDs woollen Shawl and presented with a beautiful Silver memento (depicting Sri Krishna leading Arjuna in Chariot at Kurushetra).Every chairman and MD including some EDs who wanted to join were requested to say a few words on this occasion.Dinner followed after these formalities at 10.15 pm.It was a memorable occasion as LIC completed glorious 59 years and entered 60th year.
Vehicle arrangement was made for all guests.Among Chairmen of past M.G Diwan J.S.Salunkhe,N.M Govardhan ,G.N.Bajpai and successors and among M.Ds Tripathi, Kohli and successors were present.Quite a no.of past Chairmen /MDs of our time could not make it for health reasons or travellling abroad.
I enjoyed meeting all our senior colleagues.From our batch R.G Sarma and myself attended.
