HIGHHANDEDNESS OF CHENNAI DO 1 OF LIC FOR NOT DEDUCTING MEDICLAIM PREMIUM IN MONTHLY INSTALMENTS

Dear Mr Sahni,
Thank you for your kind mail.
Yes, Chennai D O 1 of L I C of India seems to be bent on being more royal than the king.
Despite specific instructions from Central Office (which was brought about by our long struggle even for such a minor matter as deduction of premium for group Mediclaim policy in 12 monthly installments from pension), Chennai D O 1 of LIC would seem to have taken it into its head to strike its own path in this matter and DENY the benefit of MONTHLY DEDUCTIONS to pensioners.
Please refer to the following portions of my mail dated 31/05/2016 to pension.chennai-do1@licindia.com and to os.chennai-do1@licindia.com (OhMyGosh, there are now TWO of them to contend with!)
"Please realize that it was after a long-drawn out struggle that the Corporation at last agreed to and issued instructions to deduct group Mediclaim premium from pension for 12 months so that the burden sits comparatively lightly on pensioners.
I venture to say that you are not carrying out the instructions of the Central Office of the Corporation in deducting group Mediclaim premium from monthly pension but are subjecting pensioners to avoidable hassle.
(Emphasis now supplied by me in this mail of mine to you - P.Ramanathan)
Let bygones be bygones and have the goodness to deduct only Rs.1041.7777 (Rs.1042.00) from my pension for the 9 (nine) months of June 2016 up to and including February 2017 towards the balance premium of Rs.9376.00 [Rs.24269.00 less (Rs.5012.00 + Rs.5194.00 + Rs.4687.00) = Rs.14893.00 + Balance of Rs.9376.00 = Rs.24269.00 which is the premium for the policy year 2016-2017.
I won't be able to run my household if you deducted "Rs4687 from the pension payable for the months of May - 16, June - 16 and July - 16." "
