Becoming wiser !

Dear Colleagues,

After the deliberations were over on 17th instant in DHC, it was conveyed that the order would be dictated in the open court within two or three days on 40% IR issue. But, " Order reserved " was the actual version quoted by the court. We kept on expecting the much awaited ' Order ' every working day of the Court till this hour and the hopes of the aggrieved members are gradually scaling down and they are becoming wiser to learn that there is no time limit to pronounce an order kept under reserve. It may take weeks, months and even years too ! There may be valid reasons for this type of delays. Poor senior & super senior citizens have to get themselves updated about the nature of civil cases and how best they are being tried casually in courts, though there are legal safeguards enacted for the benefit of senior citizens.
A section of us has started thinking that 40% IR issue would be settled only after our main issue of ' Updation / Revision of Pension ' is finalized. In both the above two issues, the dragon ' Annexure - 3A  etc' is involved. Some felt that it would be a cake-walk to win in revision of pension on similar basis of the wages fixed for working employees during 2002, 2007 & 2012, if DHC upholds our demand for fitment of revised pension and the quantum of DR arrived on revised pension for those pre 01-08-1997 retirees. We agree when some other colleagues predict that a clear picture would emerge only after these two issues reach Supreme Court and get cleared finally.
As of now, we have to wait till 31st January, 2017 to know the mind of DHC and another one or two months to realize our destiny at the Apex Court.
As some of our kind and affectionate friends have advised, we should not get perturbed over these developments and get our health conditions ruptured. We know that we have become more wiser after our strong experience of all these long years and we will be satisfied with what little we are blessed. But it is certain that LIC & GOI can not escape from the wrath and curse of our injured souls.
   With warm Diwali greetings.
Fraternally yours,
M.P.Subrahmanian.
