Hearing
in DHC --20/2/2017
Our case could reach for hearing only around 3 pm today. According to
our reports,
S
hri Nidesh Gupta, Sr.counsel for other petitioners continued with
his arguments and emphasised that there was sufficient margin to revise
pensions without violating any statutory constraints on LIC. The court's
attention was also drawn to instances like an ED retired prior to 8/97 drawing
less pension than an Asst retiring now.
It was represented on behalf of our Sr Counsel Shri Rakesh Khanna that he would like
to avoid repetition of points made out already and would therefore require only
minimum time. The court then observed that he can argue tomorrow (21/2).
We also learn that there is a possibility of LIC counsel also might seek to advance a reply argument. In any case it is expected that arguments may end up tomorrow.

With Greetings
GNSridharan Gen. Secy
Fedn.of Retd. LIC class1 officers' Assns.
