FROM THE HYDERABAD ASOCIATION WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE VERDICT……..Part-8
WE (THE HYDERABAD ASSOCIATION) IS IN GOOD COMPANY
Dear LIC Pensioners and Family Pensioners,
This Post (Part–8) from me with the pre-announced tagline, ‘We are in Good Company’ is pretty overdue and so this takes precedence over Mr PP Dhamija’s very interesting write up and more importantly the very quick ‘clarificatory (Word is not accepting this adjective as used by GNS) observations’ of the Federation boss. My Response, (yes, it shall be my sumptuous ‘response’ only, as there is nothing to clarify) would follow as my ‘WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE VERDICT….Part-9, soon enough.
That we are in Good Company is a big morale booster for us. It goes like this:
We have recently circulated through bulk emails, through our Posts so very kindly and prominently up-loaded in the Blogs and by distributing a few hundred hard copies directly to Pensioners present at places where I visited and interacted (during my Bharat Darshan, at whose cost? MY OWN COST, Mr Dhamija). Those who followed/read the same would have noticed from what we published, that our Association was facing a staggering deficit of Rs. 47,90,000/- It was as at March 15, 2017, while the total picture has since changed as on today, as we received some more contributions, made some legal fee payments and refunded some borrowed amounts.
In the above backdrop, our Counsel Team at Delhi viz., Saurav & Ashish (and more so a professional friend of theirs, who first introduced us to Shri Gourav Banerji and engaged him for us), took the initiative (Sri CHM
and I are of course in the know) and apprised him about the status of our cases in DHC ad how we engaged and availed the services of Shri Nidhesh Gupta etc., Naturally, the fact that Shri GB could not appear for us and that it happened midway, surfaced too. I was informed that Shri GB expressed his concern for us the clients – Sr citizens fighting for Pension revision, the cost implications and our own limited resources etc.,
Shri Gourav Banerji’s interaction with the bright young lawyers in our team did not stop with the concern he expressed for us. He seems to have asked them a few more questions and told one of them to see him in his office during the following week end. The later meeting lasted for barely two minutes. He kept a cheque drawn in favour of Retired LIC Class I officers’ Association, Hyderabad, for Rs.7,50,000/- TOWARDS PART-REFUND OF THE FEE RECEIVED. The result of the rare gesture not known to me as a possibility and not asked for by me, was that our deficit got reduced to that extent in one stroke.
Are WE (THE HYDERABAD ASSOCIATION) not in Good Company? WE ARE. .
