Dear friends, OBs,Delegates,EC Members SZ & SCZ AIRIEF,Mysore,
1)The baton of conducting,leading,guiding as PRESIDENT of SZ COUNCIL MEET was handed over to me .On my right was dear AIOS,Sri Angurajan & leftPresident, Sri SSSaxena & GS Sri GKrishnaswamy.
2)Gladly accepting the honour & privilege but with responsibility,I decided to deviate from routine ,normal proceedings but to take a HOLISTIC picture of the Scenario of LIC Pensioners, Regular & Family,TP,ZONEWISE, to always remember the role & responsibility cast on AIRIEF, OBs, EC Members to rise to the occasion to fulfil the same.
I then read out the statistical data of the BIGGEST ZONE WZ, with a total of more than 10,500 pensioners,just few years before , with 23.5% of AITP
Importance of SZ & SCZ is underlined as these 2 together constitute almost 7100each ie TOTAL of 14,200m 15.7 % each
They should be harbingers of growth to boost Parent AIRIEF strength at any given point of time,while all round efforts must be made to bring a semblance of development in all areas of activity of RIEAs of OTHER 6 ZONES, including WZ,which must become AIRIEF KAMADHENU
3)4th comes NZ with 6500 & more,substantial ,of about 14.5% of AITP of 45000 & more then
5th EZ 5700 app,12.7% of AITP
6th NCZ 5100 app, 11.3% of AITP
7th ECZ 2550,Small Numbers , may be at 2/3 Centres All pensioners Meetings be conducted ,with AIRIEF PRINTED ACHIEVEMENTS & ACCOLADES distributed widely for MEMBERSHIP & LFDonation too ,5.7% of AITP
8th comes CZ 1 050 app,2.3%. of AITP
Last CO 700app, 1.5 % of AITP
4)Then a REVIEW RIEA wise was taken.invariably to cover
- Membership Nos,Denominator TP of DIVISION,
-Activities, Meetings taken place,PR Contacts with SDM/MGR OS,
-what about September Anniversary Invitation/Memento,
-LISTS secured from DO OS & how use made thereof to ENROL members, RETIREMENT LISTS from MGR PIR to contact on LAST DAY EVERY MONTH to appeal ,enroll, collect subscription,
-other REQUIREMENTS of pensioners such as SMS Pension Intimation on Last Day, Intimation from Bank . Hly DR/Pension Intimations whether Regular, mediclaim premium deductions,
-No of Pensioners still OUTSIDE GROUP MEDICLAIM without Risk Cover ,
-Whether Nominations/Mobile Nos, Email ids updated & completed, as exercise in SZ almost 9 months by now.
5)It is sad ,even when it is within limited distance,Some RIEAs were not able to come, even after reminders
Majority of OBs are 70/75 +,how to hook 60-70 poses a great problem.Breakthrough has to come.As otherwise, sudden vacuum may come & terrible frustration can set in as existing OBs have been bearing continued burden & responsibility year after year for decades
6)Re LFD,Chennai has contributed a lions share.Trivandrum has done well.Madurai also has helped SZ to display a sizeable total to AIRIEF kitty.
Kozhikode should have done much better.Sad, April to Sep 2017.except Chennais bumper,Madurai,Trivandrum, none else gave UNLESS handed over in person to AIRIEF Treasurer,WHICH UPDATED FIGURE WE REQUEST them to SEND TO US SOONER .
Some RIEAs show low LFD perMember.For impending SC Hearing,as our Sr Counsels fee is pretty high, a gracious & liberal Donation is a MUST.It is here, 40% IR recipients, Post 8/2012 retirees got all round arrears & pension, even others must display sportive spirit to be magnanimous to an institution AIRIEF having crossed near 21 years of worthy,fruitful existence.
All RIEAs must get from OS Dept List of Pensioners who get commuted Value of pension restored,Mly rise will be high & they can be persuaded to pay atleast 1 or 2 months rise for this last ditch legal battle ,which ultimately must bring cheers to pensioners.
7)Many were not fully aware of the implications of MCJain case.Class I Officers only who retired between 1/8/1992—31/3/1993 ,after final verdict from Ernakulam HC ,since SC has already given main judgement but LIC kept in cold storage,case was going on, was to be taken up anytime now & so imminent.
I requested the RIEAs to note down full particulars such as Name, Designation, PFile No,Date of Retirement
All RIEAs must remember that when that DAY comes,our UNITS all over must be ALERT to collect a SIZEABLE AMOUNT as LFD ,as Eligible total arrears will be pretty high.We have earlier calculations but we have to wait for Final Outcome

8)Strength of any Orgn is its Communication philosophy
SMS of Sri Angurajan reaches many & response is encouraging.
So too AIOS WhatsApp also makes lot of noise & latest, updated news flows in to all such members This is yet another commendable venture

9)Federations are organic entities,so historical references becomes a MUST.We don’t have a
THINK TANK & DATA BANK; SLP, Replies to earlier LIC Rejoinders,case laws, no consolidation takes place Topicwise,so tedium, boredom,backbreaking earlier notes & references becomes time consuming & flow of thought processes is interrupted
For ZONAL COUNCIL MEETING TOO,such a narration is needed, as rank & file are still not immersed in EVERY DISCIPLINE,so HIGHER HIERACHY has to be ever vigilant .Age 70.75,80 hereagain is a negative feature
Such TOPICAL references & Notes culled out,updated becomes so handy for speeches, replies, interventions etc successfully
Aadhaar Card linkages,Existence certificate & PM Jeevan Pramaan.CO Circular23 Sep 2017 re Rs40lacs, 50 lacs enhanced GI OSA, those who want to raise at lower levels OSA,& Option last date 30 Nov 2017 to be told,whether one exercises or not,AIRIEF must raise with LIC CO at same time to give choice to those FEW who want to scale down to lower OSA too.Family Pensioners may not afford high premium
ITReview done this year in SZ & any corrections by pensioners carried out was an open exercise,commendable indeed.
Make it a habit to exchange thoughts, offer suggestions, don’t be mum or silent,we lose ur skills & intelligence,no, avoid apathy or indifference,court cases
