Our SLP numbered 27963/2017 and to come up on 10/1/2018

DEAR ALL,
Our SLP has been numbered 27963/2017 and listed for hearing along with other 4 SLPs as per the following details:
The  number incidentally happens to be a  magic number with all digits adding up to 9 although I do not wish to sound superstitious.
I also attach the SC order dated 13/10/2017  giving directions  for listing the SLPs for  hearing on 10/1/2018 after issue of notices in respect of Diary Nos. 23794/2017(our SLP No 27963/2017), 26729/2017(Mr K M L Asthana) and 31206/2017(Panchkula petitioners).
Now we need to wait for about three months for the hearing.Mr G N Sridharan has reported that the SC Bench gave favourable indications for payment of interim relief, but looking at the SC Order, it seems even that can happen only on 10/1/2018.
Of course the Chandigarh petitioners SLP is  tentatively coming up for hearing on 30/10/2017 and it provides a good chance for their pressing for a direction to LIC to pay interim relief for all pensioners, as I am sure invariably all petitioners would have included a prayer for payment of interim relief pending final decision on the Appeals. It is all the more justified considering that in the  tranche of IR paid as per the SC judgment dated 31/3/2016,not a single family pensioner received any interim relief.Besides, the IR was restricted to only the pre-August 1997 retirees.
Now the entire complexion of the legal fight has undergone a change with more focus on upgradation with strong grounds stressed in the SLPs like implications of Rules 55B & 56.So it has become necessary to pray for interim relief  to be paid to all retirees who  retired before 1/8/2012 and the family pensioners of the deceased retirees in the category.
Even though there is a waiting period of  3 months before the date of the next hearing,we have to remain active in our preparations  for pleading the case effectively in the Supreme Court. We need to continue our efforts to engage a senior counsel to argue our case forcefully before the Bench which needs huge financial resources.
I therefore once again renew my  appeal to all pensioners to contribute liberally to our Association's  legal fund  so that we are able to take our legal struggle to the logical favourable  conclusion so that we are able to make the dream of late MSM come true for the benefit of more than 50000 LIC Pensioners( including the future  eligible pensioners).
I wish all LIC Pensioners and family pensioners  Happy Deepavali celebrations.
