Dear Mr Aggarwal, Your suggestion is perfectly logical, but from a practical and legal point of view, not feasible to implement unless Rule 54 is amended or Chairman exercises his powers vested under Rule 55A to order payment of pension on the last working day of the month. I am not aware of any amendment to LIC Pension Rules 1995 after 13/8/2001( bringing Chairman & MD retired after 1/1/1996 under CCS Pension Rules). If LIC/UOI wanted ,payment of pension for September 2017 could have been advanced to the last working day of September.Presumably in a conscious decision they have refrained from doing so as the pension case is now pending in the SC and they do not wish to do anything to weaken themselves as Respondents in the case even with a remote chance.
This is my personal view. Kind regards. CH Mahadevan
