Grievance Description : Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, Sir, I, a +81 yrs old retired employee of LIC am one of the sufferers out of Lakhs and Lakhs of retired employees from Insurance and Banking Sectors who have been denied the benefit of Revision/Updation of Pension on every wage revision of existing employees. In this connection kindly refer to my representation dated 23 January, 2018 reproduced below for ready reference:- "Sir, As you are kindly aware that Basic Pension of Central and State Governments Pensioners are revised/upgraded periodically along with the Revision of wages of the in service employees as recommended by the Central Pay Commission. But in case of the Pensioners of LIC, GIC , Public Sector Banks, there is no Revision/updation of Basic Pension on periodical wage revisions of the in service employees. For example, I retired in 1994 from LIC and my Basic Pension was fixed at Rs.5180/-(plus applicable DA), as against over Rs.43000/-(plus applicable DA) if I retire today. The Pension Rules of Central Government and LIC, GIC and Banks are almost similar. But the Central Government does not allow Revision /Updation of Pension of the Pensioners of these Institutions on periodical wage revision of existing employees, although they are also the subjects of the Central Government as these PSUs are fully owned by the GOVERNMENT of India. This amounts to great injustice and discrimination to these pensioners who have been crying for justice for the last 20 years. Sir, you have recently accepted a similar just demand of OROP of armed forces pensioners. Thus Lakhs of Pensioners of these Institutions, majority of whom are in December of their lives, humbly expect justice from the Hon.PM (beloved Pradhan Sewak) and kindly allow Revision / Updation of their Pension also on the periodic wage revisions that have taken place for the in service employees after 1995 when the Pension Rules were framed by the Government for these Institutions. Prime Minister Sir, it may not be possible for your office ( PMO) to give me appointment because of your too busy schedule, but PMO may kindly bring the above discrimination and injustice to your kind notice, instead of casually forwarding it to the concerned Departments. Hope the PMO will appreciate the sentiments and genuine demand of the seniors/super seniors, and place this appeal before your good self for kind consideration and positive action. With best wishes, kind regards and blessings from a +81 yrs old LIC pensioner. H K Aggarwal, Retd. DM LIC. 556, Phase 2, Sector 54, Mohali." Sir this appeal was forwarded on January 24, vide registered number PMOPG/E/2018/0030387 to Shri N Srinivasa Rao, Economic Adviser, Department of Financial Services (Banking). New Delhi. But till date no response or reply has been received. Sir, you have been listening and removing genuine grievances and gross discrimination and injustice to the subjects of Central Government, but lakhs of retired employees of Insurance and Banking sectors are victims of injustice which only your good-self can undo with your broad vision and help the senior/super seniors who are in December of their lives. Again submitting with the hope that PMO will place most genuine grievance and legally valid demand of granting Revision/Updation of basic pension of lakhs of retired employees of Insurance and Banking sectors. With best wishes, kind regards and blessings. Hari Krishan Aggarwal.
