Ram Janmabhoomi case: Next hearing on January 10
NEW DELHI: A new bench of the Supreme Court will take a call on the future course of the hearing on the Ayodhya title suit, pending before the court, on January 10.
Justices, Ashok Bhushan and Abdul Nazir will most possibly be part of the bench as they were part of the earlier bench hearing the case. The third judge will be notified before January 10 by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in his administrative capacity.
"An appropriate bench will hear the case on January 10," CJI Gogoi, sitting alongside Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, said.
The hearing, which continued for 60 seconds, did not see any arguments from either side, reported ANI.
Saffron outfits such as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have been mounting pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government for an ordinance to facilitate construction of the Ram Mandir.

The new bench will hear a batch of cross petitions challenging the 2014 Allahabad High Court judgement on the Ayodhya title issue. In 2010, the Allahabad High Court had divided the disputed land in Ayodhya into three parts for each of the parties -- the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.Saffron outfits such as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have been mounting pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government for an ordinance to facilitate construction of the Ram Mandir.
