The move
comes after Sidhu's comments on the attack received major flak. Reacting
to the attack, one of the deadliest in Jammu and Kashmir, Sidhu had
commented, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and
can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I
condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it
must be punished.”
Fans
threatened to boycott the show if Sidhu was not fired. The hashtag
#BoycottSidhu also started trending on Twitter soon after his comments.
According
to a Times Now report, the channel is in talks with the production house
and wants Sidhu to be replaced with immediate effect.
“The
channel has told the production house to sack Sidhu. It’s not a
temporary thing. They are going to get him out. In fact, even in the
past, during the #MeToo movement, when there were allegations against
Anu Malik, the channel took a stand. The channel has shot a couple of
episodes with Archana Puran Singh,” a source told Times Now.

Sidhu's seems to be the only sane voice in the cacophony surrounding the tragedy.Intelligence reports about the impending terror strike were ignored- at what cost? It is only the foot soldiers who die at the border and terror strikes. How many officers have lost their lives? Why? A soldier who genuilnely complained about foor at the border was sacked, why? International relations and defence are decided by the Govt. Why no effective and lasting peace can not be thought of and implemented? Do the people who cry revenge understand the human cost involved? Will the other side keep quiet while being attacked? If our people die who will be responsible? Those who cry hoarse about revenge, are they ready to go to fight?
