Dear  Sir ,

First our heartiest congratulations and best wishes to you upon your elevation as Chairman of our  most prestigious and beloved organisation LIC . We are sure that LIC will scale newer heights under your dynamic leadership
We also wish you and your Team a very happy Holi

We take this opportunity to draw your kind personal attention towards our mail dated 19th February ,2019 wherein we had pointed out that LIC Pensioners along with working LIC Staff residing in C Class Cities are being discriminated under Group Medi Claim Policy with imposition of unfair and unjust ceilings over room rent eligibility of Rs Four thousand only  . In addition , All other benefits are also reduced proportionately in case of our hospitalization in a room with higher rent than our eligibility
Sh C H Mahadeven  Retired ED settled at Chennai while endorsing our issue had also  sent scanned copies of  quotations showing  room rent of Rs seven thousand each   from two top private hospitals  namely Ojas Hospital and Alchemist Hospital  at Panchkula
Sir , we are insured for Rs fifty lacs and paying same amount of premium as our counterparts residing in A Class Cities  are paying
Despite all these facts , we are asked to pay  major portion of room rent from our pocket and further our  all other benefits get also reduced proportionately
This is gross discrimination and needs to be removed urgently in our Group Medi Claim Policy for next financial year 2019-20
We are sure that you will be kind enough to provide justice to All LIC Pensioners residing in C Class Cities like Panchkula / Mohali etc
With our Sincere Thanks and Warm Regards

Dear Sir,

The existing provisions under Our Group  Medi Claim Policy are being put below for your kind attention please
Room Rent ceilings
================
 For A Class Cities
================

 For Sum Insured Rs 40/ 50 Lacs maximum room  rent eligibility is Rs 8500
               And
For Sum Insured below Rs 40 Lacs  maximum Room rent eligibility is Rs 7500
  For B Class Cities
==============
 Maximum Room Rent eligibility here is Rs five thousand

For Other Cities
==============
Maximum room rent eligibility for these places is Rs Four thousand
And further provisions under existing group Medi Claim Policy state that in case any employee or Pensioner residing in C Class Cities gets hospitalised in room with higher rent than his/ her eligibility ,all other benefits under Medi Claim Policy will be reduced proportionately .
In view of above provisions , we wish to draw your immediately kind attention towards following facts
1 It is not true that room rent charges are higher only  in A/B Class Cities as compared to C Class Cities
2 Room rent being charged by top class private hospitals  at Mohali and Panchkula both being C Class Cities is much more or  almost at par with all others  A Class Cities only
It can be got verified by anyone online also
3 When New India is charging same amount of premium from Employees / Pensioners at C Class Cities also then why this discrimination with us in matter of room rent eligibility ?

4 It is not our fault that we are residing in C Class Cities like Mohali / Panchkula
Despite being insured for Rs fifty lacs we are denied higher room rent being charged by top class private hospitals like Fortis at Mohali or Alchemist at Panchkula and further our all  other benefits are also reduced proportionately
Sir , it is a clear cut case of discrimination with LIC Pensioners / staff residing in  C Class Cities like Mohali / Panchkula
We request your good self to reconsider this whole issue afresh and  issue suitable instructions to your Personnel Deptt to get this discrimination removed during renewal of group Medi Claim Policy for next financial year 2019 -20
With our warm Regards & Thanks in advance
