Legal Update from Panchkula Association

Some years ago when I was discussing the issue of petitioners addressing individual letters to the Chief Justice of India on a pending legal case with a retired High Court judge,he said that such a letter may be deemed to constitute contempt of court.
So we need to be cautious and careful while writing such letters so that the individual concerned does not get into any problem. In this case,no doubt Mr Manmohan Singhji's concern is genuine, but his letter  should not cause problems due to technicalities. If  Hon'ble CJI  appreciates the genuine concern expressed in his letter-especially considering his advanced age-and initiates some steps ,well and good.
Let us hope for it.
Kind regards.
