The Supreme Court today adjourned the hearing of review petition in Rafale case until May 10. As the proceedings began today, the bench headed by Chief Justice of India asked if the contempt petition against Congress President Rahul Gandhi was also listed today. When the reply came in the negative, the CJI wondered "How is it that this review has come today and the other matter on 10th, when there is an order saying that both the matters are to be heard together?".
Then the Court proceeded to adjourn the hearing, directing the matter to be listed at 2 PM on May 10, i.e the last day before the Court closes for summer recess, along with the contempt case initiated against Rahul Gandhi for attributing "chowkidar chor hain" remarks to the preliminary verdict of SC in Rafale case.
Today, Advocate Prashant Bhushan submitted that a new petition for producing additional documents has been filed. The Court has directed the parties to complete pleadings by May 10
