I was naturally interested to note that some of leaders ,especially from Mumbai have begun showing sudden concern over developments in the banking sector for its emploees/retirees. I refer in this connection to flashing of news ,through whatsapp medium,on the recent discussions between representatives of bankmen and IBA , The next date of talks viz. 13/1 has also been widely communicated . Good.
Without any expectation of any appreciation of my views I have always been advocating that instead of trumpeting on efforts on the legal front we should strategically watch what is happening in the banking sector. If therefore the sudden optimism is justified by good developments for bank people we should automatically be benefitted. Of course assuming that in the reported next round of talks the wage revision for serving workforce of Banks is finalised , we should be patient for at least 4 to 6 months for the turn of LIC pensioners to attract the attention of the real power centers.
Let us therefore keep our spirits high and hope there will be some solace for us by middle of 2020 if not earlier! Wishing every one a Happy New Year -
