*_IRCTC_* continue to surprise me . . . Definitely an intelligent team is working in the ministry.
The below is gonna blow your mind . . . Especially the pictures.
I was departing from Madurai to Chennai, Pandian express was in the 1st Platform and was walking down to my compartment where I saw this nicely lit, esthetically designed place. Definitely a new sight for *_Indian Railway Stations_* where our eyes got used seeing dirty retiring rooms.
So I wanted to check that place where it read *_IRCTC executive lounge_*. Went in, there was a separate reception area, they greeted me, I was seriously awestruck when they explained about the facilities they offer . . . *_Namma oorada idhu_* feel.
This *_executive lounge is a new initiative from IRCTC, Madurai_* is the first place to have one, Trichy to follow and other major cities. This lounge has multiple facilities which come at a very nominal price.
You can use this lounge just to wait by paying 60 Rs yes just 60 Rs, you get free water bottle, comfortable seats, newspapers and magazines, free WiFi, shoe shiner machine, and of course a very clean restroom.
If you are on an one day trip, you just pay Rs 150, you get option for shower and change, which includes dental kit, shaving kit, soap, shampoo, and comb. There is a nice and clean bath cubicle for this. Get down from your train, get freshen up here and head back to your business. Don't have to get a room outside just for this basic stuff and to store your luggages as this lounge has a clock room as well for 50 Rs/2 hours.
*_Recliner room_*, you get to sleep in a nice solid recliner. The room is also air-conditioned with a private TV. Again great for one day business trip, just to charge up before any business meeting. That's just 100 Rs/hour.
Apart from the above, there is a *_business center_* where you can use their computer, print, scan etc for very nominal price. Also a travel desk where they support you with organizing and planning your local sightseeing.
The best part is yet to come, they do have a big dining area where you get to taste their *_buffet at 250 Rs for lunch and dinner, 100 Rs for breakfast_*. Ala carte menu is available round the clock.
Giving such facilities at a nominal rate is a great initiative by IRCTC with the support of this govt. Such things should be taken to public and these areas should be maintained throughout for success of this project.
As usual Tamil media, opposition parties are not going to take this to the public . . . Without giving awareness to the public, they are not gonna come in as just the sight of this place from outside feels like a star category hotel. So awareness to public is very important which media should take it up. Only if public knows that this place is nominally priced they will come in
