Friends,
REG:  Jharkand Association is born ..
There's great news today, of the formation of the Retired Class I Officers' Association of the entire state of Jharkand, at Jamshedpur. Our friends from Kolkata, Sri Subir Kumar Majumdar, and Sri Dilip Kumar Ghosh had gone over on Invitation, to be there for the Inaugural Session. Sri Yogendra Prasad is the person who took the pains of putting together all the Retired LIC Officers of Jharkand state to form the Association there. The big centres are Jamshedpur, Ranchi and  Dhanbad and 20 of the present 49 Founder- members who now constitute the Association there, are from these three centres. Let me heartily congratulate Sri Yogendra Prasad for this big effort in getting an Association established there. Let me thank our two stalwart members from Kolkata who took the trouble to be there at this  memorable event.
This  good thing had been indicated even when we met at Kolkata for the General Council Meeting on the 8th of Dec 2019.  We in fact expected that Sri Yogendra Prasad would be attending the GC Meeting as a guest.  But Sri Prasad was keen that he should first bring into existence, the Association , and then join in. This is a moment of glory for the Federation itself that we have been able to add to our strength of numbers through one more area represented on our map. Right now, I am myself not very clear as to which Divisions of LIC this Association would encompass. It may possibly include parts of the LIC Divisional areas of Jamshedpur, Hazaribaug, Bhagalpur and Sambalpur Divisions under the East Central Zone of LIC? I need to be corrected in my understanding, if this is not so. I will certainly await such logistic information from Sri Prasad.  The following were elected as office bearers of the Jharkand Unit.
Sri Ashok Kumar Roy,    --  President
Sri R P Bhagat,               --General Secretary
Sri Yogendra Prasad   --  executive committee member of the Federation.
The address,  e-mail ids  and Mobile numbers are to be furnished   for communication purposes.
We are incidentally also expecting Mysuru Association to be launched, on its own independent  existence,  somewhere by the middle of March.  May the Jharkand spirit catch on elsewhere too, to inspire more such Associations being brought into existence! Our very Best Wishes to the new Jharkand Association for becoming an active unit, to strengthen the Federation, in its quest for bringing in greater respectability and improvements  that are due to the Retirees.
With Greetings and best wishes
D. Krishnan
General Secretary
