Dear Sir ,

The last para of his email will be very helpful. Same day when enough funds are pumped in by respective lic offices ,representing pension amount of Pensioners with proper List and details ,as veteran Sri BGRaithatha ,of several decades standing ,it must be possible to realize the dream of Pension credit on 1st of Every Month ,without fuss,without tension,without brickbats and unnecessary remarks of Pensioners who get only on 2nd or 3rd

        Please remember all of them get Pension on the last day of earlier month ,sameas for Employees .

2)It is therefore necessary to telephone and stress the importance of immediate credit to Pensioners SB Ac on 1st invariably
  It is absolutely essential that Erring Banks are brought to book describing the grievances of Elders , Sr & Super Sr Citizens
    SDMs & Mgr OS must again be specifically told to exert to realize this Objective at any cost without treating as a routine affair or ritual

3) Adequate time is there  & due seriousness be brought to bear as even EDEOS Sri SSNadkarni emphasizes to make every Bank fulfil its role with extra care & attention on due Pension credit on 1st Every Month

Actual day of payment of pension to Retired Employees of LIC


This has reference to our earlier communications on the subject. I talked / inquired with few Office Bearers of Bank Retirees' Organizations. They apprised / confirmed that almost all the Banks are crediting their retirees' pension on last working day of the month.

However, most of the Banks are now assigned the responsibilities to credit pension of the Central and State Government Retirees and also those of LIC, as you apprised to me. However, owing to acute shortage of staff,

lack of sincerity and knowledge, branches of several Banks are not crediting your pension on the day when LIC is remitting the sums to them. It is probable that several pensioners of LIC may be suffering / experiencing difficulties if they visit the Banks for withdrawal of their Pension, but it is not credited.

I opine, you should request the management of Life Insurance Corporation of India to make necessary endeavors / complaints to the Public Sector Banks (through Indian Banks' Association) to take all necessary steps to credit pension on the day of receipt of the same from LIC.

Dear Sri SSNadkarni ,     EDEOS, CO, LIC

1)Please pursue the matter to its logical conclusion by taking up

I) by taking up with Erring Banks who fail to appreciate the importance of credit of Pension on 1st Every Month irrespective of a Holiday or whatever

ii)repeated excuses like that of IDBI that Server failed cannot be expected & Bank Mgt must have put in place proper remedy & mechanism to avoid such glitches adversely affecting Elders ,Sr&Super Senior Citizens

iii) CO EOS must already have a Control mechanism in place to receive Confirmation of credit to Pensioners Bank Ac on 1st Every Month with a proper Proforma to regularise &establish rapport with ZM/SDM /MGR OS to understand the Key Result Area so vital for reform or remedy

iv)it is now more than 8 months all aregrappling  with this subject matter & it is time a lasting permanent solution with Pucca controls for smooth operation

v)lastly when all other Instns get Pension on same lines as that of Employees on last working day of Earlier Month, why LIC cannot protect its own Pensioners on same platform with a liberal &Empathetic view &above all Why LIC Pensioners be far behind ?

IV} Activists have to sweat out,keep updated data & info,be ready to seek help &intervention,when & where necessary,& above all build bridges of rapport & communication,here not social distancing but rapport more,by public relations,personnel relations & personal relations , to create empathy for pensioners issues & grievances

    So, yesterday I wanted to speak to ZM, NZ ,as LIC Board Resolution No 589,July 2019 & Resolution No 590,October,2019 to help allIndia Pensioners,through his rapport & even camaraderie they would have built up even with impenetrable wall of MOF,GOI.

  PA told me he is already engaged throughout the day with SDMsMeeting.

She was very kind,little of our problem I outlined;she said she will give RM OS No,but I intervened to say .I would prefer to speak to highrank Liaison Officer,who normally meets many Bureaucrats of MOF for ever so many pending matters of CO,Mumbai

She gave me  ED(Liaison ),Tel No. Her PA  immediately connected me . I narrated the essence of the 2 Resolutions ,1st where when one is promoted,within 9 months of the wage charter partly in earlier & partly in current revision, hitherto the formula was Last drawn Basic Pay or last 10 months Average BP whichever is LOWER ,BUT now Board approved, whichever is higher or whichever promoted offiicer chooses.The anamoly of Juniors getting more pension than one promoted will disappear.

    I conveyed Iam sorry to take time but both problems are vital & if Notification by DFS is issued,a big relief for many pensioners can be secured

   She then disclosed she knows me,she is from 14 Batch Direct Recruit,I can go ahead.2nd BR was atlast after many years,Family Pension, the lowest in LIC ,as when Regular Pensioner dies,FP becomes so low,even less than 1/3 of RP,not even able to pay or Mediclaim premium to be deducted from FP.

   I portrayed it is pathetic 18,500 pensioners have already died/are dying,& so frantic enquiries are there & nobody to wipe the tears of the widow.

CO has done some spadework & more but I appealed to her with all sincerity & assertiveness to take it as a Mission,as already 13 months & 8 months respectively are over.This will offer good relief to poor FPensioners.

She must help us,some special tapping the right source needed, plus our delegation with Sri Anand Tyagi,our AIRIEF OBs,Fedn of RetdClass I Officers also met MOF.

I also alluded that 3 days before MOF released IR on Pension upgradation to NABARD pensioners & it is possible route to LIC pensioners pending problems & especially these 2 Crucial long pending issues,cleared by the BOARD must get nod & approval

She promised to make sincere allout efforts & was pleased to talk to the one who moulded 14th Batch ,SZ .

   Let us hope for the best.An optimist invented the aeroplane, a pessimist invented the parachute.Let us be optimists & pragmatists .
