The news of the death of our past Chairman , Sri R Narayanan on 1/4/2021 is sad & shocking .By all means, he was such a towering figure ,full of pragmatism & a creative , futuristic look for this Institution LIC . His missionary zeal & zest & progressive ,nonstop measures to ensure LICs march forward & onward & upward was insuperable. It looked as though his mantra was LIC, LIC & nothing but LIC to be the Topmost, Glittering , Rock of Gibralter Organisation amongst all Service & Financial Institutions .

Deerghadarshi in his today's Tribute to the departed figure,tears well down my eyes as at several rungs of my climb from 2nd batch of Direct Recruits AAO 1962 onwards we were associated as part & parcel of his well-crafted & astute planning to achieve the golden vision & mission statement with methodical tools & strategies circulated with aplomb & ably supported by data. His was not photographic memory ,it was cinematographic .His followup ceaseless to all categories of Employees & Field force was stunning, no one can afford to be behind or relax. He kept everyone on his toes .
When after the Madras LIC building fire , somehow , we were all huddled together in StMarys Road, managed with grit & determination , forgetting all inconveniences, engaged singleminded to build from ashes as it were ! to reconstruct back all relevant records or ledgers, I was humble AO Mktg , DO , sent our army of administrative force with rules & procedures & checklist , a case of Reverse centralization from BO to DO as they possessed all records of agents, DOs & conveyance & unforgettable fervour by one & all in Dept ,CO nominated Spl Officer, late Sri TSSubramaniam declared Mktg Dept for the quickest reconstruction of all records
So too , when NB was down whereas in crisis situations , synergy should be prominent, it was Sri RN whose strategies are always parexcellence , I recall with nostalagia that the sales of Trusty Trio Policies for which we worked night & day,with danglers all round in BOs, DO with the thumping & inspiring Slogan Play your part,Play it well & Play to Win . Indeed CHENNAI DO beat all Metros in sales of Trusty Trio.NB zoomed
RN was a ceaseless Reformer.While at CO as MD & Chairman,when he knew the proud Instn is doing exemplary , his mind will always munch alternatives & stragies to spread tentacles & lo,series of Subsidiaries he created LICHFLtd ,LIC Mutual Fund, LiC International , Bahrein
A sweep it was & we all witnessed how trigger helps all to rethink & move forward towards Nations & People's welfare, progress & prosperity.
KADAPA along with Bengaluru & Delhi were named the Experimental DOs under OIC & systematically & steadily the transition & transformation settled in & that was a glorious period of cultural & Organisational thinking & change .
The record which KADAPA DO created in all spheres of activity & All India No 1 in 20 out of 25 indices of performance & DO & Branches getting Excellent Ratings with outstanding performance in administration & development ,special Award & Shield was handed over to me , SDM KADAPA in
a glittering ceremony at Yogakshema Conference Hall in the presence of SSri ASGupta Chairman ,RN, MD & Lakshminarayana ZM .RN was a mastercraftsman in PR & Publicity . His speeches were always inspiring with incisive reviews & ever a road to future to create records & break records
Our heartfelt condolences to his family . It is a grievous loss to entire insurance fraternity . We cherish all memories of the spectacular growth of our institution. A RoleModel & a Change-agent, his presence & charisma were a morale booster .We pray the Almighty to shower strength & fortitude to bear this irreparable loss May his soul rest In Peace
