Referring to the opinion of Mr GNS that we should not press for finality in our case,I concede that I am not having all the experience and wisdom of Mr GNS as a pensioners' leader and a practicing advocate. But all the same I wish to opine that now that the process of LIC IPO is gaining momentum and IPO sure to be launched by the first quarter of 2022,once the IPO is completed, the entire profile of LIC may undergo a substantial change in the matter of responding to the demands of employees and pensioners on financial dimensions. We,pensioners, being more vulnerable having been compelled to miss the bus of upgradation of pension for about two decades now, there is no time to be lost now.
As regards winning or losing in Supreme Court,it is a do or die battle.By expediting the case-God forbid- we are not able to win the case despite all our serious efforts,we will not be worse off.Having resorted to litigation ,we need to bring it to a logical conclusion leaving no stone unturned towards a positive outcome.I feel that time is running out for pensioners with already an estimated number of LIC retirees having left this world without getting the upgradation of pension which they legitimately deserved.
