The government on Monday appointed former Madhabi Puri Buch as chairperson of the market regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved Buch's appointment for an initial period of three years, according to reports.   She is replacing Ajay Tyagi, whose five-year term comes to an end on February 28.
