Dear Friends,
Reg: CORE COMMITTEE, JOINT FRONT AND COURT MATTERS
I had earlier communicated to you all that our case in Supreme Court has been posted for 3rd Nov. 2022 . In the eyes of the judges our case will take much time of the court and is not so important to be taken up on priority basis. Let us wait, till good sense prevails on the Judges and the Supreme court administration. Much hopes were tagged to Bank case in Supreme court fixed for 22/09/2022 on pension updation matter, but here too the Bench did not operate on that day due to some other important matters. Now this case has been posted for 27th Sept. Let us see what happens on that day. The decision on Bank's updation case will have bearing on updation of pension in LIC..
Now I wish to remove the confusion that is prevailing in the minds of some of our members and leaders about * Core Committee* and *Joint Front*.
The Core Committee, nomenclature does not appear anywhere in Federation Laws. With the mutual understanding between the President, Secretary (Coordination) and me, a joint decision making mechanism had been developed between all three of us, to which we have given above nomenclature. We may call it Think Tank, Niti Nirdeshak Mandal etc. The idea was to have a transparent and joint decision making mechanism as against Individual taking all the decisions as per his wisdom.
The other confusion is about "Joint Front". This matter (issue) has been thoroughly examined and reviewed by the "Core Committee" members. The Committee is of the opinion that
1) The coordination and consultation between all the petitioners in the case in Supreme Court, shall continue as usual, for maintaining Uniformity in approach in the Court matters.
2) For other matters, like meeting the Govt. Officials or LIC authorities etc. We shall go Solo( means alone)
3) The Federation is not against forming Joint Front, but it should be of all the Pensioner's Organisations on ISSUE basis. If members favour it, we shall take initiative to forge such a Joint Front in future at the appropriate time.
At the end, I request you and through you to all members, to kindly adhere to the above decisions (views) of the Core Committee, to maintain the IDENTITY and DIGNITY of Federation. With greetings
Long Live Federation.
S.K.Awasthi
General Secretary
