Subject: Re: The pioneering T.S.Krishnamurthy!
1) Some are lucky, they become popular, planetary position ,is it ?
Some attribute others handiwork & successes to themselves.U are right
World is a maya, a delusion .
2)How many biodata we would have seen, how many regions we worked, how many ups & downs, trials & tribulations we have experienced, how many we have conquered, what a fund of goodwill & trust we earned.how many we have helped, how many we made them grow, life is not a riddle to be solved,it is a miracle to be celebrated & sung .
3)In LIC, there were about 7 or 8 brother combinations
TSS & TSK ,a memorable combine
TSSwaminathan was a rare combination of twin credits, gem ,an Actuary & Accountant, When I see some qualifications of a few , running lengthier than their names, I used to salute their achievements
TSK was indeed a pioneer. He had an enquiring & intuitive mind.He was a progressive even at that time, of LIC infancy.Status-quo,he abhorred.Any visit, anything not conducive,he will find out a remedy for any malady
Books & Teaching & Training materials he had prepared with aplomb & distinction. So many Self Learning Techniques, so simple illustrations & examples, a Revision at the end of each Chapter, even a slow learner will aspire to know & absorb.Creativity was his credo. He was revered & respected,he was indeed a Guru for many.
4)I used to regard Sri RNarayanan, former Chairman as one worthy of emulation. He was a 24 hour servant & a 24 carat executive.
Sri BRSethi was a perceptive thinker & practitioner,a formidable leader
When he wanted us to tell a proverb ,giving lead---------What cannot --- be CURED ,must be ENDURED
He will thump his desk & say, that is how the world believes, one cannot be a coward,
WHAT CANNOT BE endured, MUST BE cured,
Fantastic indeed
World, Country, Companies need such unique leaders who can mould men, instns & nation at large
Sure, some more are star-studded,as in long, intimate mixing & mingling,so many sterling qualities, seemed to be hidden, erupt with great force & velocity .Biographies one must read more than Autobiography to see real test of time & crisis & how they came out victorious. They are the Captains & Commanders who can steer & ensure sparkle & lustre, whereever they go.That tribe should increase in the more turbulent days ahead for the world as a whole
It was said of Dr Johnson that there was nothing which he did not touch which he did not adorn.
ie Everything he touched, he adorned with distinction
Greetings & thanx for tickling my mind & imagination,

Subject: The pioneering T.S.Krishnamurthy!Only these two officers have earned my respect. That was sometime in 1959."...The opportunity was utilised to discuss with him (Mr R.Ramakrishnan, the then Chief Actuary of LIC) the need for reducing the number of Plans to say 15 from 45 or 46 plan we had those days..."I'll never forget the bubbly TSK. It was his view that departmental manuals are only for guidance and are not to be treated as sacrosanct, even though most of them were written by he himself!
This sentence in a posting in a blog giving the impression that the suggestion was that of the writer should be juxtaposed with what is stated in late T.S.Krishnamurthy's (the then Divisional Manager of Coimbatore Division) essay titled " A Blueprint for Administrative Efficiency in the Light of Rs.2000 crore of New Busuiness a Year " which won the Chairman's Gold Medal in an essay competition conducted for senior officers of the Corporation.
There were 8 entries if one remembers correctly and this pioneering suggestion of TSK (TO WHOM ALONE THE CREDIT FOR THIS IS DUE) appeared under the sub-heading "Reduce the Number of Plans and Terms" (I am quoting from memory) in that learned essay.
I had to wait another three decades to meet another officer in LIC worth his salt in Mr P.N.Jambunathan who was the Sr Divisional Manager of Vellore Division when I was working in that Division.
TSK was nonpareil.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
