The Notice  reads:

The 11th General Council Meeting of the Federation will be held at 9-30 am on Sunday the 19th of June  2022 at COCONUT PARADISE,  GREEN COCONUT  RESORT, No. 58/1, EAST COAST  ROAD, MUTTUKKADU - 603102. (Chennai), to Transact the Following Business:-

          The following amendment is to be carried out in the notice.

3.   To be read as below.

      To Receive and adopt  the Audited Statement of Accounts for the financial years ended 31-03-2020, 31-03-2021 & 31-03-2022 ----- To be presented before the House by the Treasurer.

 

PS: The Audited  Statement  of Accounts  for the year ending 31-03-2020 were only circulated to the Executive Committee only by circulation as we were not able to meet due to the Covid conditions. Hence the accounts for the year ending 31-03-2020 has to be approved by the EC on 18-03-2022, before being presented to the GC on 19-06-2022

1.   The green coconut resort is about 30/32 kms from the Chennai Meenambakkam Airport. There are two routes from the Airport.  1. Via East Coast Road which takes roughly 45 minutes. 2.  Via Rajiv Gandhi IT Express way & East Coast Road which takes about 50 minutes.

 

2.   The distance from Chennai Central Station where mostly all the East, West, North bound trains as well as some of the trains  from Kerala  arrive or depart is about 34 kms and takes about 45 to 50 minutes.

1) You must have gone through the April 2022 – Slilver Jubilee-Part 2 edition. In this issue we have covered all the photographs of honouring of members on the occasion of Silver Jubilee of our beloved Federation – AIRIEF.  In case, we have missed some photographs, all the RIEAs are requested to send such photographs again, so that the same can be included in coming issues. 

2) Obituary :  As already informed, VV being a All India mouthpiece, in obituary column we wish to publish the news of past and present OBs of AIRIEF and RIEAs as also senior members of RIEAs. So please do inform us accordingly.

3) You must have observed that in VV we are including many new features. You must have also observed that the reports from RIEAs are many a time too lengthy. We therefore again request all the RIEAs to send their reports in short, but covering all the information. We expect your cooperation in this regard. 

4) We also invite small write-ups from our members, beneficial to the senior citizens.  

5) Inspiring stories, achievements by our members and their family members are also invited as back cover page coverage. 

6) The paper and printing material cost has increased during these 2 years. The cost of VV printing is also increasing issue after issue. Therefore, we wish to keep the pages limited to 4/8 colour pages + 20 b/w pages. This will keep the weight within 50 grams, so the postage will be Rs.4/= per copy.                     --- Chief Editor..

1.    To Receive and adopt the Report of the General Secretary on the Activities of the Federation during the period of over 2 years  from the last General Council on the 8th of Dec 2019 at Kolkata.

 

2.    Discussion on 1 above and chalking out the programme for further  action in regard to  important issues faced by Pensioners.

 

3.    To Receive and adopt  the Audited Statement of Accounts for the financial years ended 31-03-2021 & 31-03-2022 ----- To be presented before the House by the Treasurer.

 

4.    Election of Office Bearers and EC Members for the two-year period 2022-2024 -- till the Next General Council Meeting in 2024.


5.    Resolutions, if any, in respect of which Notice has been given, or those arising out of the Deliberations at the Meeting.

 

6.    Discussion on expansion in the number of units & improvement in numbers in the membership of the Association units & the strategies

 

7.    Any Other business with the permission of the Chair.

All eligible members viz.,  1. Delegates  2.  Office Bearers,  3.  EC Members 4. Special Invitees (whether or not they are elected as Delegates ) are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

For The Information of Members Attending the Meeting

1.  The Meeting will be held at  COCONUT PARADISE HALL,  GREEN COCONUT  RESORT, No. 58/1, EAST COAST  ROAD, MUTTUKKADU - 603102. 2.    All Eligible Members as referred to in the Notice are expected to attend the G C meeting positively. Others are also welcome to attend at the Discretion /Expenses of the Sponsoring Association, to take part as Observers, allowed as per the formula of one for every 50 members in the Association List of numbers.

3.    Delegate Fee will need to be paid to the Treasurer, Federation, ahead of the commencement of the Meeting either by Cheque or cash. The Delegate Fee per individual Delegate is Rs. 1500/-

4.    To and Fro travelling Expenses of all attending Members shall be borne by the respective Affiliated Associations.  However, Accommodation Charges for stay and Boarding Expenses from 12.00 noon on 18th June 2022  to 12 noon on 20th June 2022, shall be borne by the Federation. The Chennai  Association will Host a Dinner for all Delegates by 7.30 p.m  on 19th of June  2022.

5.    Rooms have been Booked for two days from 12.00 noon on 18th June 2022  to 12 noon on 20th June 2022, on triple sharing basis. Overstay beyond this arrangement will be the responsibility of the delegates themselves.

6.    It is quite possible that some of the delegates/observers would like to overstay or arrive day(s) earlier to the date of the meeting. They may book the LIC Guest House in advance, by sending a mail to sz_gh@licindia.com

7.    The month  June in Chennai is  a tropical month, with temperature in the range of an average high of 34.2°C (93.6°F) and as the Meeting will be only for one day, 19th June 2022 it is intended to start the meeting at 9-30 am, with Registration from 9 am. Members are requested to cooperate in completing the Agenda before 6 pm on 19-06-2022.

10. The office-bearers of the Associations   will kindly note that any 'Resolution' to be sent, will need to reach the General Secretary at least by 31st of May 2022 to enable us to include it in the File for the G C Meeting.
