Our cases in SC on 24.02.2023

Dear Comrade,

Re: SLP(C) No. 19799/2017 before Supreme Court.

Our Pension case came up before the Supreme Court today as scheduled. LIC had moved an application seeking adjournment for a week since their Sr Counsel was not available.

Our Sr. Counsel, Sri. Raju Ramachandran and other Counsels present pointed out the inordinate delay in deciding the issue. Sri. Raju Ramachandran also said Government and LIC have been seeking adjournment frequently. Since all pensioners are senior citizens and their number is depleting, it is necessary to hear and decide the case early.

After this, Bench wanted the case to be posted on a day for hearing the submissions and adjourned the case.

We shall inform the date of next posting as soon as we hear from our Legal Advisor  who is at New Delhi.

Regards,
M Kunhikrishnan,
General Secretary, AIIPA.
