1) While we were waiting for some good news after our AIRIEF Delegation met MDs M.Jagannath & MD Sri Tableesh Pandey & later EDPersonnel & moreover when we heard the good news of your visit to meet Hon FM , to resolve pending issues of Employees & Pensioners,all eyes were on outcome & longawaited Family Pension hike on same lines as that for Bank Family Pensioners who got decent arrears of FP with Effective date 1/4/2021.
Sir, you are aware Family Pensioners link is the weakest link,they are not in the mainstream & so with such meagre Family Pension,they are not able to lead a life of peace,tranquillity & dignity. Under the circumstances,it behoves on authorities to display greater level of empathy to resolve their genuine & modest issues & grievances.
2) i)Sir, in the last few years,due to mounting deaths of pensioners, the Family Pensioners numbers have gone up from 20% to 45 % & in some Zones, even to 50 %.So All India picture shows as at 31/3/2022 ,Statistics of Regular Pensioners as 46,000, & FP as 23,000 totalling only 69,000 pensioners. Normally outlay in respect of ALL pensioners,therefore will be relatively less.Enough attention is not paid to uplift FPensioners life & living, status & dignity at the twilight of their lives. It is but natural, LIC FPensioners expect Same level of treatment in respect of monetary benefits to lead a life of some comfort & attending to their needs reasonably fully.But that is NOW a great disappointment as FPensioners eagerly awaited NOT BETTER,but atleast SAME degree of comparison & for once to enjoy some arrears.
ii)Further, Agerelated rise in Basic Pension at 80,85,90,95 & 100,rise of 20%,30,40,50 & 100 % which appears to be accepted but not released & most adversely affected Group is a small number as many have gone to Heaven. Herealso, many FPensioners exist only left unheard,unwept & unsung.
iii)We also submitted that Pensioners & spouse are spending heavy amounts for Domiciliary expenses, Consultation & Prescriptions once,twice or more is exhorbitant from the Pension amount,already Meagre & so with modesty pleaded for
CMB Cash Medical Benefit on SAME LINES AS FOR EMPLOYEES,& for all PENSIONERS, the outlay will be a meagre Rs100crore app..
iv)When Regular Pensioner dies,FPensioners do not want to stick to original OSA,say Rs40lacs to 75 lacs,& though it is laid down in Proportionate rule, it helps them to shift to 1 Step lower OSA,& they say correctly & candidly,that even the Basic Sum Assured is sufficient cover for them.Moreover as now BSA is revised from Rs4lacs,6 lacs & 10 lacs to only 2 Slabs Rs10lacs & Rs 15 lacs ,LIC must secure this concession & genuine longlasting grievance NOW itself without waiting for NEXT YEAR mediclaim revision, can be resolved satisfactorily.
v)Sir, you are aware that New Life Digital Secure App for Life Certificate ,in conjunction with Jeevan Sakshaya & Digilocker ,created many hardships & hiccups continued till 17th August2023 & Aaadhar added some more backlash.With PHOTO genuinely taken with Selfie & confirmed photo appears,that should be enough proof that Pensioner has undergone proper steps as stipulated & so, even if The recording Says in process,that must be counted as GENUINE LC & copy with Pension Cell will adduce proof of the exercise undergone.
Sir, in this context allow Video call from Pensioner to DO/ZO PCell,LIC can ensure Foolproof evidence, as many are ill, weak, bedridden ,& none to help them etc.Is it not necessary to involve & eradicate the lacuna & avoid tension & timeconsuming procedures?
vi)SBI GIFT to Elders & Seniors age 75 & above graded years,for various Cadres,ending on top with decent Rs1,95,000 Exgratia ,not counted in Retirement benefit, Can we SuperSeniors,including Family Pensioners, secure similar 67th ANNIVERSARY GIFT from your announcement during the Insurance Week gone by & ensuing OCTOBER 1st 2023,WORLD ELDERS DAY ? Kindly BESTOW, as 21,000 Pensioners have died & are dying,empathy need of the hour,SIR.
