LIC BUILDINGS SECRETARIAT ROAD HYDERABAD 500 063 (E-mail: aiieahyd@gmail.com)

Cir.No.18 / 2024 To All the Zonal /Divisional /State /Regional Units 7th May 2024

Dear Comrades,

AIIEA has addressed a letter today to the Hon'ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Government of India, drawing his attention to the fact that the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the months of February and March 2024 has not yet been published in the official website of the Labour Bureau. The letter is self-explanatory. Please circulate it among our members.

With Greetings,

Comradely Yours

General Secretary

Shri Bhupender Yadav Hon'ble Minister for Labour and Employment Government of India Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg NEW DELHI- 110001

Date: 07.05.2024

Respected Sir,

We wish to bring to your kind notice the fact that the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPIIW) for the months of February and March 2024 has not yet been published in the official website of the Labour Bureau. Since the Dearness Allowance to lakhs of insurance employees and pensioners is paid on the basis of the CPI-IW, the absence of the official data for two consecutive months has understandably caused avoidable disquiet. We would also like to inform that the entire statistics relating to Consumer Price Index for Industrial/ Agricultural workers is missing from the website of the Labour Bureau causing huge discomfiture to the workers at large.

Publication of CPI figures is a routine matter. This is clearly mentioned in the official website of the Labour Bureau in the following words: "The indices are released on monthly basis and the index of the previous month is released on the last day of the ongoing month".

We would request you for your personal intervention in the matter so that the CPI-IW for the months of February and March 2024 is released without further delay.

Thanking you, in anticipation

Yours faithfully

Sd/-

General Secretary
