Impact of PM JAY Scheme on LIC Group Mediclaim Scheme

As per the reply received by me under RTI Act from New India, there are 47011 beneficiaries covered under LIC Group Mediclaim. If a good number of such beneficiaries avail of the PM JAY Scheme from 1/1/2025, the claims under the 'less than Rs 5 lks' category will be less for New India Assurance Company resulting in their profiting from this migration for low cost hospitalisation treatments .If the PM JAY is hassle free, more members in the category may migrate to PM JAY.In any case every 70+ citizen of the country will apply for the PM JAY Vaya Vandana Card.
Such developments  should lead to a serious review of the premium rates by discussions between LIC & New India and passing on the benefit of resultant premium reductions to the  70+Senior Citizens covered by the LIC GMP.
The various LIC Pensioners Associations need to move in the matter with LIC Management.
