Today forenoon myself and Arvind ji went to BMS office (in the scorching sun with 43-45 degrees) to meet Shri. Girish Arya ji and he was not available. Then we decided to proceed to DFS for getting updation on pending issues.
We sought an appointment with the Joint Secretary (JS) from PA, but we were told that he is preoccupied with LIC/Insurance related matters and may not be available for the whole day.
Finally, we could manage to see the Joint Director Insurance, though she was extremely busy in our/insurance matters only.
After exchanging the pleasantries, the JD also told us that she is also awfully involved today with LIC & GIC related pending issues to be discussed with JS and in preparation of ppt to be shown to FM ultimately.
Although JD had a meeting 10 minutes later, she was kind enough to actively listen to our unfolding of pending issues.
What we could take from today's meeting is that our pending issues are actively under consideration and some of them may see the light of the day in coming days. We are happy to learn that almost all the issues referred to by us in our detailed letter dtd. 23-01-2025 addressed to the JD, are likely to be discussed with the JS.
The country is in testing times but it is not that our matter is shelved for the time being.
Our continued taking up the matter with FM ON 10/10/2024, and also with officials prior to Oct 2024 and thereafter, has a lasting impact on ministerial approach.
The decision to grant relief to LIC/ GIC/Banks shall flow from the top, she iterated.
The GIC salary revision is also stuck as the proposal of 12 % increase is not acceptable to employees’ unions.
Finally, we could understand that despite difficult situation, our cause is under consideration and we have hope that our just and judicious demands will definitely see the rays of sunlight.
We assure that the NOIP would continuously pursue the matter on our own and through BMS as well, to get the ultimate redressal therefor.
General Secretary
