Guide for sending Certificate of Existence from abroad using LIC Digital Saakshya App from LIC Digital App
Even though it is written in the official circular of LIC that LIC Digital app does not work abroad, the reality is that this app works perfectly well even abroad. Why this is written in LIC's circular is beyond my understanding.
Based on LIC's circulars, various pensioner unions have also written in their circulars that this app does not work abroad. No one checked before writing. For my friends who live abroad and want to submit their Existence Certificate through LIC Digital, there are some special things for them, please pay attention to them.
1.
Your mobile number is registered with your Divisional Office and this number is active.
2.
You have an Aadhaar card with any valid active mobile number. It is not necessary that the mobile number registered with the corporation and the mobile number registered in the Aadhaar card are the same.
3.
The spelling of your name registered with the corporation and the spelling of your name in the Aadhaar card should be the same.
4.
Your date of birth registered with the corporation and the date of birth registered in the Aadhar card should be the same. When you are abroad, the phone automatically gets the network of the country with which the Indian network has a tie-up, whether you have international roaming or not.
For example, if you use Airtel in India, you will get China Mobile network in China. Airtel has its own network in many countries of Africa, where you will get Airtel's network. You will get Hutch's network in many countries of Europe. You will get AT&T's network in many countries of the United States, Latin America and West Indies. But some phones do not automatically catch any network in that country. In such a case, go to your phone's settings and select the network manually. If you know the exact network, then it is fine, otherwise you can keep selecting one network at a time.
Your phone will get registered in the network with which it has a tie-up. This is extremely important. Apart from this, SMS should be coming on your phone.
If SMS are not coming then activate this service. For the past many years, SMS were coming on Airtel while staying abroad without taking international roaming, but this year it is not coming.
This service can be availed on Airtel by recharging with Rs 98 voucher. Take international roaming only if you want to listen to incoming calls or make outgoing calls. Otherwise, there is Whatsapp to listen to or make calls.
If you want to know who called you without taking international roaming, then download TrueCaller app on your mobile. This app will let you know who called you. However, it is only for a very short time, it does not keep any call log. pg.
1 You do not need to take the services of any particular company to use LIC Digital app. You can run this app using the WiFi used at home. You do not even need to take the services of any VPN(Virtual Private Network) and it is possible that your Existing Certificate may not be generated if you use VPN to access the internet because LIC Digital also monitors your IP Address and Geo Location coordinates as to from which corner of the world you have generated your certificate and VPN does not reveal both these information or it will reveal the IP address you want the receiver to know. VPN is used only for extreme security reasons. It is used only by very big companies or criminals who want to mislead the police.
Apart from this, I suggest everyone to use DigiLocker. Download your Aadhar card in DigiLocker. DigiLocker is an app of the Government of India and by using it, your Existence Certificate will be generated faster and more easily and the chances of failure will be less.
Using the UIDAI site also takes more time and the Aadhar step is more likely to fail. Apart from this, it also takes up space on your phone. LIC Digital app first downloads Aadhar on your phone in XML format from the UIDAI site and then takes your Aadhar data from your mobile.
Create a 6-digit MPIN for DigiLocker and remember it. You have to generate your Existence Certificate on or after 1st August. Certificate generated before that is invalid. This certificate is reflected in the divisional office but cannot be validated. However, the option to generate a certificate has not yet come in this app. it started generating Existence Certificates in the last week of July last year. I had also generated my certificate for testing purposes. Some other colleagues had also generated their certificates at that time. After that, we had to wait till 5th August to generate a new certificate.
Although 1st August has not yet come, but I suggest you to download LIC Digital App and register your mobile number and create a 4 digit MPIN. To register your mobile number, just enter your mobile number without country code. For example, if your mobile number is 9897221497, then enter this number and not +919897221497. But if you want to save a new Indian mobile number in your mobile while living abroad, then definitely enter the country code +91, otherwise your mobile phone will save it as the mobile number of that country. Your mobile phone traces your location whether you have kept your location on or not. For example, if you save my mobile number 9897221497, which is from India, in USA without country code, then it will save as (989) 722 1497. In USA, the first three numbers are the area code. If you have any problem or doubt regarding this article or LIC Digital and DigiLocker app, you can contact me by sending a message on my WhatsApp number 9897221497 or by calling. Remember to call only between 10 pm and 10 am. Thanks Ashok Mandal, Meerut, +919897221497
