OUR CASES IN SC

Respected Shri Sahni Sahab,
This is with respect to your query about chances of listing/hearing of our CAs in SC.
As per the record of proceedings of 21-01-2025, the Supreme Court made the following order:
"As mentioned by the counsel for the appellant(s), list the matter in the 3rd week of August 2025."
As per the latest position of listing of the cases on the SC website, 'regular cases' are listed on 6th and 7th Aug. 2025. This indicates that now the regular cases are being listed on Wednesday and Thursday (earlier regular cases were listed only on Thursday). If so, our case may be listed on 20th or 21st Aug. 2025.
Our cases were last heard by the bench of HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HRISHIKESH ROY and
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE S.V.N. BHATTI. Justice Hrishikesh Roy is retired so now the cases are to be allotted to the new bench. We would know the position only after publishing of the Cause List containing our CAs.
During same period, a constitution bench comprising Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justices Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice P S Narasimha and Justice A S Chandurkar, would be listening the matter related to the presidential reference in the matter of time limit imposed on the Governors of the State for dealing with bills passed by assembly.
If our cases are allotted to court no. 3 or 4 or 5, listing of our cases would not be impacted by formation of the constitution bench. Court no. 3 is presided over by Justice J K Maheshwari and the co-judge is Justice Vijay Bishnoi, Court No. 4   by Justice B V Nagarathna and co-judge is Justice K V Viswanathan and court no. 5 by Justice M M Sundresh with the co-judge Justice N K Singh.
This is my optimistic thinking. To know the correct position we have to wait till listing of our CAs.
Our advocates are keeping an eye on the developments and would be advising us accordingly.
M P Agnihotri.
