Dearness Relief to retired pensioner employees is paid as per Appendix IV of LIC Employees Pension Rules 1995 at the prescribed rate as per  each wage revision.

Appendix IV

(see rule 37)

Dearness relief on basic pension shall be as under

e3(A) In the case of employees who have retired or died on or after the 1st day of August 1997,the dearness relief shall be payable for every rise or to be recoverable for every fall as the case may be of every 4 points over 1740 points in the quarterly  Average Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers n the series  of 1960=100.Such increase or decrease in dearness relief for every said 4 points shall be at the rate of 0.23 per cent of the basic pension. 

Similar is the rule for other groups of retirees.

The quarterly average Index for the quarter ended June,2025 is 9477.31

Average Quarterly Index converted to 1960=100.

The last Average Quarterly Index for the quarter Oct-Dec 2024 was 9480 at which the Dearness Relief was paid wef 01.02.2025.

The difference between the last average quarterly Index and the current average quarterly Index is 2.69 points.

It is less than 4 points.

Hence no Dearness Relief is recoverable from the retired employees wef 01.08.2025.

   We therefore, humbly request you to kindly look into the matter and restore the decrease of one slab of Dearness Relief to the retired pensioners.                         We are confident you will have an open,impartial mind,with empathy for the pensioners

     YESTERDAY,14th August,  I tried my best ,contacting both LL & MNo of ED Per.

       Then I could get Chief OS,who listened to me,requested me to send a NOTE .

         Accordingly, I am sending this crisp Note,with the hope of securing POSITIVE  decision around our 78th Independence Day.
