We will be in the midst of festivities in the coming month starting from the end of September. In view of this it is considered to be prudent to share the 144th issue of Eastern News a few days early. We hope our readers will take it in the right perspective.
This year the month of September appears to be the most eventful. Besides celebrating Insurance Week of our beloved Institution with great fanfare, we were delighted by the decision of the GST Council withdrawing GST w.e.f. 22.09.2025 totally from Insurance premium, be it Life Insurance or Health. The growth of the Insurance business has been to some extent deterred by the concept of GST. On the single eventful day of 22nd September LIC has surpassed more than Rs.1000 Crore FYPI thereby indicating that this historic decision of withdrawal of GST will enhance the path of growth to achieve further milestones in years to come.
The month of September is also the beginning of celebration of one of the all-time greatest Indian festivals DURGA PUJA which was also inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Thus, it is evident that the 'Eastern News of OCTOBER-2025 issue has been published in this auspicious month, and is being sent in attachment of this e-mail. We are looking forward for your valuable suggestions/comments to enrich us for making improvements in our future issues.
