Vacation sitting is to help corrupt politicians and corrupt rich. It could be used for senior/super seniors and have disabilities over ordinary litigants, but they will not. It is actually used to delay the justice in order to deny them till death and even there after to their kin. So it is not a surprise to any one except retirees of financial sector who were cheated by their In-Service and its mentors and a fond hope of success in legal process for decades.
Judge Swaminathan of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court censured the practice of engaging advocates who charged a hefty sum for a single appearance in court and cited an instance wherein a senior counsel was paid Rs 4 lakh per appearance. “The university, which is pleading that its financial situation is such that it is unable to pay the dues of its retired staff, has no difficulty in paying exorbitant fees to its counsel,” he said. Additional Advocate Generals appeared even for small matters where their presence was not really required and where even a “novice of the government counsel could handle,” he observed. (But judges yield to powerful AG as against only affordable and poorly paid senior counsels of retirees of LIC to drag their case for decades. But retirees don't find fault in the conduct of their juniors ie., In-Service having enormous faith in judiciary. Karma decides not judges.)
Highly paid Senior Counsels may argue that they are charging exhorbitant fees from corrupt rich and corrupt quasi-govt institutions and not poor who don't engage them. Poor suffer for their actions in their past lives according to all Puranas. So do good in this life. Perhaps it is also not possible.
