The Mediclaim policy for 2026-27 is renewed.
There is absolutely no difference between last year's and current year's policy, *excepting that the premium is uniformly increased by 6.69% for all categories including the dependents.*
The Federation representatives met the Chairman, ED(P) and the DM in-charge of Mediclaim and informed them the lacunae. *In fact we showed them the policy issued by the same New India to National Insurance where _the room rent is only Rs. 15000 and Rs. 12000 for cities and suburbs and not five categories as given to us. Similarly adding the duty doctors' fees and Nursing charges to the room rent is also absent. The question of non-medicals is not seen in their policy._ It is really a pity that LIC is showing a deaf ear to our genuine problems.*
