NEW DELHI: Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi ventured into unusual territory on Saturday when he questioned former adult star Sunny Leone acquiring Bollywood stardom, inviting criticism from former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah.

"V shd be careful that western rejects like sunny leone are not allowed to epitomise indian culture or acquire the status of a Bollywood icon," Singhvi said in a tweet, expressing his disapproval at the growing stature of Leone in the Hindi film industry.

Abdullah slammed Congress spokesman over his twitter remark that western rejects like Sunny Leone shouldn't be allowed to epitomize Indian culture.

"I thought this was a fake handle but seems not. What the hell possessed him to tweet this???" he said on Twitter.

His comment coincided with Leone's latest release "Ek Paheli Leela". Leone had shot into fame with hits like Jism-2 and Ragini MMS-2. The latter featured her in the chartbuster "baby doll" song.
