Dear Jain Sab,
Sub: Letter addressed by AIBRF to UFBU
As directed by you office bearers/EC members of APBRF headed by president Sri A Rajendra Prasad met Sri M V Murali, Convener, UFBU on 18-05-2015 @3pm (today) and handed over the latest letter of AIBRF to him. The following are the minutes of our meeting:
1)
Sri A R Prasad handed over the letter to him. Sri Murali said "is it a personal warrant to me?" We replied that it is a last minute request of the retirees so that UFBU could discuss the demands of the retirees with IBA and settle the issues.
2)
Sri Murali showed the earlier letter addressed by you to UFBU and said "Is it a letter? What is the tone of the letter? How such letter could be written? Are we not discussing the issues of the retirees with the IBA? The letter prompted CHV to react immediately"----I replied "the tone of the letter represents the mood and fear of thousands of retirees. Further the letter was addressed to UFBU and UFBU should have replied but not by AIBEA which is only a constituent of UFBU.
3)
I said that all the retirees reposed great confidence in the assurances given by CHV that UFBU would sign the 10th BPS only after the issues of retirees are settled. Thatbeing the promise the retirees are not able to digest the news that the settlement would be signed on 22nd May. Itcaused a rude shock to retirees and they are under theimpression that it is the end of the road for them". Sri Murali replied that it is not correct. He said that there are clear chances of continuing the discussion of the issues even after 10th BPS. He said IBA is not against 100% neutralization of DA, medical insurance policy to retirees, up gradation of basic pay at 4440 index level. He also said that IBA has reservations about family pension.
4)
Sri Murali said that one more pension option to the retirees is not possible as the same is not even in the agenda of the discussions. He also said IBA is of the view that revision of basic pay to the retirees is cost effective and it should be worked out to find out the possibility, if any.
5)
In reply to a question of Sri M N V S Murthy as to why IBA is against discussing the issues directly with AIBRF, Sri Murali said that he does not know. To another question of Sri Murthy, he said that retirees of SBI/SBI group banks would discuss their issues directly with SBI for a favourable result.
6)
I said UFBU has been discussing the issues of the retirees with IBA as per the COD of AIBRF and UFBU should continue to discuss the issues and arrive at a settlement favourable to the retirees. He replied that UFBU will continue its efforts and try its best.
7)
Sri Murali said that he received information that efforts are already on to stall the proposed settlement throughlitigation. I replied that it is only a canard making rounds in certain banking blogs and there is no basis forsuch apprehension.
8)
On behalf of AP & TS BRF Sarvasri A Rajendra Prasad, Y V Subba Rao, M V N S Murthy, Ravi Chander, P Krishna Prasad, V Visweswara Rao, V N VPrasad, M V Muralidhara Rao, Kameswara Rao and some other retirees actively discussed the issues in a candid manner with Sri Murali and the overall impression we got is that the situation is not so much negative.
This is for your information.
