The Plight of a Retired Bank Manager

UNION BANK RETIRED EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION

Date:
22nd June,'15
Friends,

The Plight of a Retired Bank Manager

We forward here under an e-mail received from our Union Bank Retired Staff Association (Tamilnadu).

It is bitter fact that since the pension of retired bank employees is never revised / up-dated since introduction of the scheme during the year 1995,  we know several of our old retirees are facing such acute financial hardships.

The recent retirees and the employees / officers retiring in near future will face the same financial difficulties after  15 / 20 years because of ever increasing inflation in the economy.

Therefore, while finalizing 10th BP Settlement, it would have been better if the United Forum of Bank Unions might have insisted for improvements in pension instead of merely taking care of the employees / officers in service.

Yours sincerely,
B.G.Raithatha,
                                                 General Secretary

UFBU- Leaders ! POWER & POSITIONS are not permanant. Todays your actions may be tomorrow's your experience. Please do not go down the history in a shameful way for having signed the settlement with a bundle of injustices, which are unheard of. Do not throttle the throats of your own members who reposed faith, trust and confidence in you. With GP/ Spl.Pay not ranking for Pension-what will be the Future and Plight of future retirees ( @the rate of this running away inflation) ?
Better late than never.
This is a salesman who sells puppets at F block, Inner Circle, Connaught Place. He can be seen there every day. He is neatly dressed, wears ironed full-sleeves shirt, which is properly tucked into his ironed trousers, that has a black leather belt and he carries a stick to support his steps. His hand is covered with a puppet glove, which make a "PPPPPIIIIPPPP" sound that enables him to attract passerby.
Let's meet Mr. Sahay…… He is a living example for all those people who are scared to struggle in life.
He is 75. At this age, he comes daily from Rohtak, with a bag full of puppets and a water bottle which is very heavy & makes it difficult for him to take each step. He has a railway pass which enables him to commute daily from Rohtak. He earns for his wife, married daughter and her children. He is a retired bank manager.
He had a son, who was a chartered accountant & Mr. Sahay had to spend all his savings for his career. But his son moved to Bahrain without informing him and after some time Mr. Sahay got the news that his son has died in an accident.
Now he is the only bread earner of his family.
Please buy a pair of puppet from him which costs Rs 40 only, to support Mr. Sahay…… Not for sympathy but to salute THIS GREAT MAN!!!!!!
