FULL PENSION FOR 20 YEARS' PLUS SERVICE PENSIONERS

Responding to the post of Mr P G Vijairangam, no doubt Delhi High Court has delivered a strong and convincing judgment on the full pension entitlement for pensioners who have completed 20 years of service.

But the benefits of the judgment will reach the pensioners in the category   only when the matter is finally  adjudicated by the Supreme Court where the case is sure to land on appeal. This process will entail further delay.

RBI has already notified in 2013, its decision to treat all such pensioners as entitled for full pension.

The Pensioners' representative bodies need to convince the LIC Management through dialogues the desirability of bringing changes in this regard that will benefit this group of pensioners without the need for vexatious litigation.
