As per the telephonic information received by me a short while ago froM
Mr M Sreenivasa Murty, the LIC Counsel today made a mention before the
Supreme Court Bench for certain "accommodation" which means possible
adjournment. Our Chandigarh petitioners' counsel Jay Savla Associates'
advocate was informed of their proposed plea only 4 minutes before 2
P.M. with no time given to her to be present when the mention was made.
It
is later gathered that the judge heard the plea and directed LIC
counsel to appear tomorrow and make the mention. GOI/LIC wanted to
engage Solicitor General of India who is not free tomorrow.
If
such development takes place tomorrow, Mr Murty wants to press for
proper payment of interim relief to all eligible pensioners beyond
the respondent- pensioners.
Greetings.
