BENGALURU: Government and bank employees will enjoy 11 holidays,
including Sundays, this month. If they take four days leave to fill up the gaps
between holidays, there will be just 16 working days.
With four consecutive holidays starting October 22, banking
activities are likely to be hit.
According to a bank official, ATMs could sustain without refilling
for a period of two to three days, after which they are most likely to dry up.
The four-day bonanza will begin with Ayudha Pooja on October 22,
Vijayadashami on October 23, Muharram on October 24 and October 25 will be a
Sunday. After one day’s break, October 27 is again a holiday on account of
Valmiki Jayanthi.
Apart from this, there will be a three-day holiday stretch,
starting October 10, a second Saturday, October 11 is a Sunday and October 12
is Mahalaya Amavasya.

planning a vacation with his daughters. “I will be taking them to Mahabalipuram
and Puducherry during the fourth week of October,” he said.
