WE Bankers
No agitation or movement can attain success unless and until participants in the movement are fearless, determined, devoted and committed to the cause.
Most of us agree that Justice has been denied to bank employees and they have been deprived of fair wages, facilities and privileges which are available to Central Government and other public Sector Employees. We also agree that our Trade Union Movement has become weaker and is not in a position to achieve equality, parity and justice for us.
But then when it comes to accepting challenges from both outside and inside, only few display courage and conviction of coming forward. We must accept the reality that a fear psychosis has been created by those who are responsible for present pathetic situation. They have succeeded as most bank employees are afraid in coming forward to take on the challenges.
So first challenge before We Bankers is to remove this tear in the mind and hearts of bank employees. Knowledge plays most significant role in tearing the veil of unknown and imaginary fears.
In order to clear all types of doubts and with a view to counter the fear psychosis, We Bankers decided in its Bhopal Conference that a workshop must be organised in the last week of November inviting knowledgable and experienced leaders of the past and other experts to clear doubts of young bank employees.
Accordingly We Bankers is organising Awareness Programme on Sunday 29th November at Merchants Chamber Hall, Civil Lines, Kanpur. It has been decided to invite Sri M. R. Awasthi, Ex. All India President of SBI Staff Federation and Ex. Workmen Director of SBI and Sri R. C. Trivedi, Ex. President of BOB Employees Federation and Ex. Workmen Director of BOB to enlighten activists of We Bankers. We are also trying to arrange one Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) from Ministry of Labour, Government of India to agree to our proposal of participating in our Awareness Programme for making aware our activists various types of protection available to them under Labour Laws.
We will apprise you of the detailed programme as and when we get acceptance from leaders of the past. In the meantime we request you all to let us know through comments your views on Awareness Programme as also get your reservation done in advance and let us know who and who is participating.
