Dear Aggarwalji,
None could
differ from the suggestion put forth by Sh. V.K.Bhasin. We can not depend upon
legal processes alone for all the time to come. Besides huge expenses incurred,
elders are very much vexed with prolonged duration on flimsy grounds and also
the intricacies involved. It is alleged that the bureaucracies in the States
and in the Centre seldom attach due respect to the judgments delivered.
Contempt proceedings against such powers have become the order of the day.
We are the
witness to see the outcome of the fierce agitation of about 30 lakhs Army
Veterans in the streets for more than a decade. They believe in their
organisational strength than in the legal processes. The government could understand
the depth of our problems, only, if we could present them in their
language.
Time has come
when we should also think in terms of winning our long pending issues,
organizationally, through result oriented programs of agitation. Initially,
there may be a bit of hesitation in approving of such direct actions, because
of our advanced age, health setbacks and family circumstances. We can not avoid
such factors within the senior-most and senior elders. Among about 40,000 of
us, atleast around 2000, to begin with, should be prepared to come forward from
the entire Divl.Units to shoulder such responsibilities. As is known, we could
achieve nothing with nil sacrifice. The agitation of army veterans is an
eye-opener.
Let us not feel
shy of the suggestion of our colleague. It is high time that we should give due
consideration to such constructive thoughts in view of our long other pending
issues.
WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY !
LET US HAVE CONFIDENCE ON OUR
OWN ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTH !
With regards,
M.P.Subrahmanian,

Dear Sir:
Pensioners Issues: Wage Talks
It appears that there is hardly any
focus on Pensioners issues including Another Option or
Family Pension Updation, etc.
The Pensioners Association are
neither a party to Wage Talks nor are there issues being taken
seriously by the Inservice Unions.
Will we continue to fight for our
issues only at the legal front?
I am regularly reading Pensioners
voice. We need to motivate Pensioners to a particular
direction of protest, I believe.
With regards
VK BHASIN
